Updater™ for Outlook®

As you use Outlook, you will find the need to make periodic adjustments and updates to your data. Until now, performing these updates required the ability to program, and a detailed understanding of the Outlook object model; no end-user tool was available to do this effectively. Updater™ for Outlook® fills this need, allowing you to perform data manipulations on any Outlook object. Updater™ for Outlook® understands the intricacies of your Outlook data, including custom
(user-defined) fields and forms and the multi-valued Keywords data type.

Usage	Example
Mass updating of one value with another	Replace all occurrences of "Network Solutions" in the Company Name field with "VeriSign"
Conditional filtering	For all contacts where the YTD Revenue field is over $20,000, set the Special Holiday Gift field to True
Substring replacement	For all contacts in the city of Burbank, replace the Area Code of "(818)" with "(561)" in the Business Phone and Home Phone fields
Managing multi-valued Keywords fields	Replace all occurrences of the Category "Tahoe" with "SharePoint"
Moving data from field to field	Move all values in the Business Fax field to the Other Telephone Number field, so fax numbers don't show up in the Personal Address Book
Copying and concatenating from field to field	To clean up and standardize Contact name formats, set the FileAs field to LastName, FirstName for all contacts
Sophisticated text parsing using Excel's Eval function	Convert a series of imported phone numbers from a format of "81887607776" to "(818) 876-0776"

• Max # Records: The maximum number of records/items that can be processed.
• Excel Eval Operations: In the Professional edition, Updater can call Microsoft Excel's "Eval" function, allowing you to include sophisticated text and data parsing operations in your updates.
• Forms Management: In the Professional edition, Updater allows you to perform a series of maintenance operations on your Outlook custom forms, such as removing fields, resetting form icons, etc.

Technical Requirements - Updater™ for Outlook®

Windows Version: Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP Outlook Version: All versions of Microsoft Outlook. Outlook Express is not supported. Outlook 97 is no longer supported by Microsoft; consequently we can only provide limited support for that platform. Microsoft Exchange Server: All versions of Microsoft Exchange Server NOTE: Only U.S. English implementations of Windows, Outlook, and Exchange are officially supported; however, we have users successfully running our software in other-language installations.
